With the exposure and fanfare surrounding 2 royal weddings in 2018, there is no doubt WEDDINGS have been on all our minds. But what are the trends we have spotted for 2019? And what is on trend for weddings in Yamba?!
Here at Yamba Golf & Country Club, we’ve put together a list of what we think are the biggest wedding trends for this year!
Offering abundance, variety and stunning visual impact, what’s not to love about grazing tables? Usually featuring cheeses, crackers, deli meats, fruits, vegetables, dips and sometime even lollies, these tables are presented like a work of art, and allow your guests the opportunity to help themselves without waiting for the canapes to come around.
Dessert tables add to the sense of ‘fun’ and individuality that many couples strive for when planning their big day. A dessert table allows for couples to include their favourite treats, or something personal (homemade personalised biscuits or a doughnut wall) as well as the traditional wedding cake, which provides an wonderful choice of desserts for your wedding guests!
The 2019 Pantone colour of the year is here and it’s a sunny, pinky-orange named ‘Living Coral’. It’s a perfect tone to incorporate into weddings especially those during the spring/ summer months. With its bright, happy tone it could be considered for everything from coral coloured flowers, bridesmaids dresses, shoes, desserts, make up and more!
The dress is one of the most important features of any wedding and is something that many girls spend years thinking about!
With Yamba’s warm climate, we will continue to see lots of modern beachy styles, form fitting with lots of stretch lace, and lots of bare skin. This look has been very popular for the past 12 months and will continue to be in 2019. Also popular were looser boho styles in creamy or nude colours with vintage lace, batwing sleeves and flowy skirts. If you are looking for comfort, then this look could be the style for you!
The jumpsuit is another trend that’s grown in popularity, with more designers are including jumpsuits in their bridal collections for both brides, and their bridal party. A popular choice for more casual, smaller weddings (an overall trend for 2019). Jumpsuits are also a fun option for rehearsal dinners or other wedding celebrations before the big day.
We are also starting to see geometrics and patterns in bridesmaids dresses, rather than just a single colour or a range of colours. We can also expect to see more bridesmaids in cocktail style dresses – either knee length or just below the knee.
The rules of bridal wear have become a lot more relaxed in the past few years, so go with what suits you and your bridal party – as really, anything goes!
Floral and greenery installations with a WOW factor are hot and will continue to be for the foreseeable future, the more natural and organic the better. Floral arbours for ceremonies and hanging greenery for receptions are still a very popular choice for brides.
Bright and deep colour blooms coupled with Australian botanicals are back in 2019 after several years of more muted subtle tones. Tropical palms and lots of greenery remain a popular choice for Yamba couples where these types of foliage hold memories of growing up by the beach.
Florals will continue to be used throughout the venue rather than just traditional centrepieces in 2019 as a way to include theming throughout the entire venue.
